Systems of Inqualities Lesson

Systems of Equations Lesson

Description

This is a lesson on Solving Systems of Linear Inequalities for an Algebra 2 class.  It demonstrates effective use of technology available through the school district.  This lesson specifically uses the Grapher program (Mac) to demonstrate solving systems of inequalities.  Using this program allows the students to clearly see the overlapping areas of the inequalities that constitute the solution to the system.

Description

This artifact is a strong lesson on probability and demonstrates knowledge of content.  The artifact contains the detailed lesson plan and PowerPoint presentation notes for a lesson on theoretical probability and independent/dependent events.

Description

This lesson, part of a unit for an Algebra 2 class, is a combination lesson that reviews solving systems of linear equations for a quiz and introduces the systems of linear equations project to the class.  The lesson demonstrates effective use of resources, materials, and technology available through the school district.  The project is an adaptation of a previous project used by the teachers in this district.  I added the advertisment component that integrates the project with business and technology.  I also created a website that provides assistance for this entire unit, as well as this project.  The website contains tutorials, homework solutions, practice, a blog, the project assignment, and a project sample.  The website can be found at www.lehigh.edu/~trw205/activityctr/home.html.  This proficiency is also noted on page 1 of the PDE 430 by Dr. David Snyder (located in Evaluations and Recommendations view).
