Description

This file is a small photo collage of my teaching experiences.  Photos #1, 3, and 5 depict engagement of students in the learning process.  Photos #2, 4, and 6 depict feedback to students on their learning.

Description

This is a complete guided inquiry lesson on transformations for an Algebra 2 class.  This lesson demonstrates good use of questioning and discussion strategies that encourage students to participate.  The engagement activity is thought-provoking  in order to engage students in the discussion and uncover any prior knowledge.  The lesson plan demonstrates appropriate sequence of questions.  This lesson also contains communications for procedures and clear explanations of content, particularly doing a good job of detailing procedures for inquiry/discovery.

Description

This artifact is a lesson on mean, median, and mode.  It includes both the lesson plan and the PowerPoint that contains the student activity and notes for the lesson.  This artifact demonstrates skills in communication of procedures and clear explanations of content.  It also demonstrates use of knowledge of content and pedagogical theory by using inquiry based and collaborative learning to help students grasp and retain the concepts of mean, median, and mode.
